ACC U-19 Asia Cup Nepal vs India Preview: Three Indian players to watch out for
Kathmandu, December 16
Nepal’s U-19 cricket team take on the mighty Indian youth team on Friday at the Colombo Cricket Club, a day after they were handed a one-run defeat by hosts Sri Lanka.
Nepali allrounder Dipendra Singh Airee displayed a stellar performance with the bat and the ball in a match that went to the wire. But luck favoured the hosts as they registered a one-wicket win.
Nepal and India have so far played two ICC-recognised matches, excluding the two matches played between the two sides when the Indian team toured Nepal in 2003. Nepal have not won a single match against India at the junior level.
Here we look at three key players from the Indian side, who could take the match away from Nepal:
1.
Abishek Sharma

Sixteen-year-old left-handed batsman Sharma is from Punjab. Even at an early age, he has shown lot of potential and is expected to get a palace in the Indian side soon. * During the Vijay Merchant Trophy (December 2015-Jan 16) Sharma scored a century for his side Punjab U-16 against Himanchal Pradesh. He then went on to score 226 against Jammu and Kashmir, and 152 against Delhi.
2.
Prithvi Shaw

Shaw plays for Middle Income Group (MIG) Cricket Club in Mumbai and is the captain of Rizvi Springfield High School and the Mumbai under-16 team. In November 2013 he set the highest score by any batsman in any organised form of cricket since 1901 when he hit 546 in a Harris Shield Elite Division match until the record was surpassed by Pranav Dhanawade on January 4, 2016.
3.
Kamlesh Nagarkoti

Leggie Nagarkoti plays from the Sanskar School Cricket in Jaipur. A little-known cricketer in India, he took four wickets giving away just 12 runs in India’s massive 235-run victory against Malaysia on Thursday.
