Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is currently in China visit, has reached Chhengdu of China, on Monday.
PM Dahal reached Chhengdu following his meeting with the Chinese President. He is scheduled to come to Lhasa thereafter, informed PM's personal secretary Prakash Dahal.
He is returning home on Wednesday.
A canal dug by the Indian Forest Department employees at the no man's land near the Nepal – India border at Madhuban Municipality – 5 has been filled up by Nepal's Armed Police Force (APF), Sanoshree.
The employees of the Katarniya Wildlife Reserve India dug up 20 meter long canal by using an excavator in the area located between border pillars 75 and 76.
The armed police team led by Inspector Bhupendra Pal was dispatched to the site immediately after getting the tip off and took a stand that both the countries are not allowed to carry out any activities at the no man's land.
"They claimed that the land they were digging was on the side of India," Inspector Pal said and added, "There was confusion if the area was located nine meters within the border pillar, so we filled it up."
The international law bars any countries from carrying out any activities in the no man's land. Meanwhile, Bardiya's Chief District Officer (CDO) Bishnu Bahadur Thapa said he did not have any knowledge regarding the incident.
A Nepali woman from Barbote – 7 of Ilam has been languishing in a jail in Bangkok – the capital of Thailand – for the past six months.
Kabita Acharya has been in the jail for the past six months and has now been joined by Deepak Adhikary of Lahachowk – 3, Kaski.
The Thai police arrested them for possessing fake visas for Canada. They were arrested from a hotel with the passport having fake visa stamps for Canada.
The Thai police on January 12 filed a case against them at the Thai Criminal Court. Both the Nepali citizens claim they are innocent.
Consultations with the lawyers suggest that their release demands a bail amount of 250,000 Thai Baht each, Nepali Embassy said.
Acharya's family members confirmed she was arrested from a Bangkok-based hotel in possession of a passport with Canada's visa stamp. They are unable to find out the identity of the dealer that arranged for the fake passport as they have not been able to contact her.
