Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development, Kamal Thapa, has assured that the local poll would be held at any cost.
Speaking in a face to face programme in the capital today, DPM Thapa urged all not to doubt over the elections as government was preparing for the same in full phase.
He further urged all political parties and their cadres to be ready for the elections adding that no one should miss the chance.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that the Tarai centric parties should also take part in the local poll as it was going to be held after 20 years.
Thapa, who is also the chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, clarified that his party will not support the constitution amendment bill in the present status.
In another note, leader Thapa referring his party's leader Prakash Chandra Lohani's decision of quitting the party, termed it a suicidal decision on Lohani's part and added that the dissatisfactions could be resolved within the party.
He further said that Lohani's decision will have no effect to the party.
Addis Ababa city spokeswoman Dagmawit Moges says most of the dead are women and children, and more bodies are expected to be found in the coming hours.
One resident says about 150 people were there when the landslide occurred Saturday night.
The cause of the accident was not immediately clear, but residents say dumping of garbage had resumed there in recent months.
Hundreds of people are believed to be at the landfill every day scavenging items to make a living. Others live there in makeshift homes.

समाचार अनुसार र्यान्डी क्यारभेनी यस सिद्धान्तको विकास गर्नेहरुको वैज्ञानिकको टीमका सदस्य हुन् । बर्मुडा ट्राएङ्गलमा १७० माइल (करिब २७३ किलोमिटर) घन्टाको गतिको हावा रहेको हुन्छ । यी बादल र हावा आपसमा मिलेर जब जहाज या हवाईजहाजसँग ठोक्किन्छन् तब तिनलाई तानेर समुद्रको पिँधमा पुर्याउँछन् । वैज्ञानिकको दावी अनुसार बर्मुडा ट्राएङ्गलमा जम्मा हुने शक्ति समुद्रको पानीसँग ठोक्किने गरेको छ । जसबाट सुनामी भन्दा शक्तिशाली अग्लो समुद्री लहर उठ्ने गर्छ । यी लहर आपसमा ठोक्किँदा अझ धेरै शक्ति पैदा हुन्छ । यस क्रममा त्यस आसपास रहेका सबै बस्तु नष्ट हुन पुग्छन् । वैज्ञानिकका अनुसार बादल बर्मुडा द्वीपको दक्षिणी भागमा पैदा हुने गरेको छ । यो बादलले त्यसपछि करिब २० देखि ५५ माइलको यात्रा तय गर्छ ।
बर्मुडा ट्राएङ्गलको रहस्यबारे विश्वमा कयौं तथ्य बाहिर ल्याइएको छ । यस्तै एक सिद्धान्तमा बर्मुडा ट्राएङ्गलको शक्तिको पछाडि एलियनको हात रहेको दावी गरिएको थियो । पछिल्लो सय वर्षमा यसमा ७५ वटा ठूला जहाज र एक सय भन्दा साना ठूला पानीजहाज पसेर बिलाइसकेका छन् । यसक्रममा आठ हजार भन्दा धेरै मानिसको ज्यान गइसकेको छ । एजेन्सीको सहयोगमा

पूर्वप्रधानमन्त्री ओलीले भने, ‘विकास प्रेमी, नेपाली जनताले मन पराएको सरकारलाई हटाएर अर्कैको इशारामा एउटा यस्तो सरकार बनेको छ । यो सरकार बनेदेखि गाडी नपल्टिएको दिन नै छैन । उम्दै उलच्छिनी सरकार !’
उनले मधेसी मोर्चामाथि केही मानिस मराउने र त्यसमाथि राजनीति गर्ने गरेको आरोप लगाए । सप्तरीमा पनि त्यस्तै भएको भन्दै उनले भने, ‘तथाकथित मधेसी मोर्चाले केही मानिसलाई उचालेर भिडन्तको स्थिति बनायो ।’
संविधान संशोधन विधेयक कुनै हालतमा पास हुन नदिने भन्दै ओलीले भने, ‘भत्ता लिने, गाडी चड्ने अनि संविधान मान्दिन भन्ने । नकचरोको पनि हद हुन्छ नि ?’

एमाले अध्यक्ष ओलीले नयाँ शक्ति नेपाललाई बुद्धि बिग्रिएकाहरुको समूहको संज्ञा दिएका छन् । नयाँ शक्ति नामको २/४ जनाको समूहले एमाले मुक्त अभियान भनेको भन्दै उनले भने, ‘बुद्धि बिग्रिएका भ्रष्ट बुद्धिजिवीहरुको संगठन ।’

Naya Shakti Party Nepal has accused the main ruling political party of devising a plot to exempt Ncell, the private-owned mobile network operator, from paying income tax, thus causing a revenue loss of Rs 33 billion.
A statement issued by Naya Shakti coordinator Dr Baburam Bhattarai said the process to get the matter decided on through Cabinet instead of having it decided upon by a tax officer is a matter of encouraging tax evasion.
Fagu Purnima (Holi), the festival of colours, is being celebrated in hilly districts including Kathmandu valley today.
Revellers, young and old alike are celebrating the festival by smearing colourful powders. The Holi festival is being celebrated specially in Basantapur and Thamel of Kathmandu. Tourists in Thamel are also celebrating the festival along with Nepalis.
Spokesperson at the metropolitan Police Range, Superintendent of Police, Pradhumna Karki, said that the people are celebrating the Holi festival in a peaceful manner.
He said that a large number of police personnel have been deployed at different places of Kathmandu not curb any untoward incident.
One hundred 32 people have so far been arrested from different places of Kathmandu for their involvement inhumane activities and smearing colour powders forcefully, said police.
Similarly, more than 500 vehicles so far have faced action for violating traffic rule today, added Karki.
